When should factories choose acacia wood pallets?

Acacia wood pallets are a good choice when the warehouse uses forklifts/hand trucks, the goods are in boxes or bags, and you want to repair the slats instead of replacing the entire pallet. Exporting solid wood also requires the IPPC mark — acacia wood can meet that requirement.

You should choose this option when:

• Shelves and containers are set up to 1,200 × 1,000 mm or as needed. Machining according to the drawing.
• A warehouse worker replaced the slats and reattached the legs.
• A portion of the goods are being sent to the border crossing, requiring... ISPM 15 processing.
• Put large lot of one sizeDelivered according to production schedule.

Don't use acacia wood pallets as a general "green" reason. The technical reasons are sufficient to justify the decision.

Six reasons why factories or acacia wood pegs are popular.

1. It can be repaired, not discarded entirely.

If a slat breaks, replace it. Plastic pallets with cracked blocks usually have to be discarded. The factory rotates pallets many times: the cost lies in the number of repairs, not just the initial purchase price.

2. Install the shelves and cart correctly.

The acacia wood is sawn precisely to the millimeter. The shelves are narrow, the rails are thick, and the container interior is 2.35 m — this is recorded on the order form, and the factory builds accordingly. Pre-cut pallets to approximately the exact dimensions eliminate any space for wedges or rail jamming.

3. Loads in the industrial range

The Royal Homepage states that acacia wood pallets are designed to withstand loads from 1 to 2 tons. That's a range, not every 2-ton model. Static/dynamic load capacity is indicated on the pallet. Off-center stacking or excessive stacking will still cause breakage.

4. Exports achieved ISPM 15

Solid wood pallets are fumigated or heat-dried and stamped with IPPC. Plastic pallets do not follow this standard because they are not wood used for packaging. For both domestic and export shipments: a portion of the batch requires treatment, while the domestic portion does not need to be stamped.

5. A type of wood is recorded on the form.

The two price quotes are only valid if they are of the same species, same surface, same 2/4 dimensions, and same fumigation. "Cheap mixed wood" cannot be compared to properly kiln-dried acacia wood pallets. Hoang Gia lists acacia (or eucalyptus-acacia) on the invoice.

6. Delivery according to factory schedule.

New warehouse, seasonal changes, replacing damaged pallets in batches: finalize one specification, deliver multiple shipments. Mixing five types in one warehouse causes the warehouse manager to mistakenly select the wrong lifting direction.

When should you avoid choosing acacia wood pallets?

Do not choose this option if the floor is frequently cleaned, the goods require a clean plastic surface, or the environment involves water immersion. Wood absorbs moisture, is susceptible to termites, and is heavier than plastic with the same surface type.

Also, do not choose this option if the client requires plastic or metal pallets in the contract. Do not attempt to substitute wood in a clause that locks out the material.

Pallet beds, decorative shelves — these are not the job of industrial pallet factories. Hoang Gia doesn't do that kind of work.

What information should the factory include on the receipt to ensure accuracy?

Six lines: quantity, delivery point, pallet surface area in mm, 2 or 4 sides, load, domestic or receiving country. Lack of fumigation means the factory packs domestically and then asks for the required seal at the border.

Are acacia wood pallets cheaper than plastic pallets?

For the same surface area and load, wood is usually cheaper to buy. Plastic may be cheaper if you consider the wet storage lifecycle and low failure rate. Compare the total storage costs, not just the unit price of the panels.

Can food factories use acacia wood pallets?

It's acceptable if the goods are in sealed containers and the warehouse doesn't wash the pallets with a high-pressure hose every day. A washable, germ-free surface is needed: consider plastic. For wood, choose a sealed, dry surface.

Should you choose 2-way or 4-way acacia wood pallets for your factory?
